The partners of Sinamandla who currently implement the Self-help Group (SHG) approach are non-profit organisations and community-based organisations. The management, staff and community facilitators of each partner have received training and exposure on how to run an SHG Programme within targeted communities. Ongoing forum and specific capacity-building workshops are held annually by Sinamandla for partners to participate in.

Sinamandla partners need to be committed to:

  • addressing the underlying conditions of poverty within communities
  • promoting self-help and mutual help
  • empowering people to take control of their own lives
  • using community-based and participatory approaches
  • upholding the rights of women and children
  • working with communities leaders and structures
  • the eventual withdrawal and handing over of the entire SHG programme to the community.

Sinamandla thanks the following donors for their partnership in 2014-15:
